When my daughter bought the unit , the ceiling had the vermiculite covering. It was ugly, dark and depressing ( and looked dirty). It also dated the unit. I wanted the ceiling to be changed and researched the methods to get rid of the popcorn ceiling. Ceiling Resurfacing Australia gave the best advice . As the vermiculite ceiling was not being removed there were no issues with insurance or strata. An asbestos test was needed before work could commence. All our questions about the work to be done were answered. We were told it like it was, what could and could not be done, the process and the time frame. We were kept well informed of the progress of the work...The end result was FANTASTIC.The celings looks like regular ceilings and has removed that 70's feel . After the painter and electrican finished their work the unit looks great. It is much lighter and more inviting. People who saw the before and after were very impressed.
